Coronation Street viewers shocked as Ken Barlow’s three-bed terrace goes on the market for £120, 000

Coronation Street viewers are left in shock as Ken Barlow’s ‘bargain’ three-bedroom terrace goes on the market for just £120, 000 – and joke it must be due to ‘the drama on the street’

  • Tracy Barlow revealed she’d like to put in an offer on adoptive father Ken’s home
  • Claudine told her asking price was £120, 000, but Tracy offered just £105, 000
  • Soap fans were gobsmacked by bargain price, with one joking: ‘Mind blown’

Coronation Street viewers were left in shock after it was revealed Ken Barlow’s house was on the market for a bargain price of £120,000.

In last night’s episode of the ITV show, Tracy attempted to purchase her childhood three-bedroom Weatherfield terrace after her adoptive father decided to move into a retirement home.

And fans of the soap were quick to take to Twitter, astounded by the cheap asking price of the property.

‘Ken Barlow’s magical 3… 4?… bedroom house selling for £120k? Must be because of all the crime in the area,’ joked one, while a second penned: ‘£120, 000 for a house in Corrie?! Mind blown.’

A third added: ‘How many people live with Ken Barlow? There must be at least 12 bedrooms in that place and it’s only worth 105 grand… HOW?’ while a further commented:

‘£120,000 for Ken Batlow’s house in Coronation Street? That would be £400,000 + in Sevenoaks!’

In the episode, Tracy visited her adoptive father’s house and attempted to persuade Claudia to give her a good deal on the property.

‘I think it’d be the perfect home for me, Steve and Amy,’ she said. ‘Dad would save a fortune in agents and sales fees.’

But a concerned Claudia questioned whether she could afford the £120, 000 asking price, adding it was a ‘lot of money.’

‘Well he wouldn’t be selling it for that amount – would he?’ said Tracy. ‘Not unless he wants to see me and Amy sleeping in a tent.’

But while Tracy undercut the asking price and offered £105, 000 – many were left questioning why she’d risk throwing away such a bargain.

‘£120,000 for a house in Weatherfield ….? You’d be lucky to get a caravan down here,’ commented one, while a second wrote: ‘The fact that the ASKING price for Ken’s at least 3 bed house is £120,000 is just so heartbreaking. London is wild.’

A third added: ‘£120,000 for a house on #Corrie #bargain wish that was the prices down here. Smiling face with open mouth and cold sweat,’ while a fourth agreed: ‘Ken’s house is worth £120k in Corrie – in London that wouldn’t buy Ken a barbie house.’

Meanwhile, others couldn’t deny the price tag was cheap – but suggested it may be due to all the drama on the street.

‘£105K for Ken’s house may be a bargain but the crazy drama that living on that street causes isn’t worth it,’ joked one, while a second penned:

Others reasoned that perhaps the asking price was cheap due to the amount of drama on the street (pictured)
