An apparently heartbroken woman has taken out a large newspaper ad to dump her lover after she found out they were using her credit card to buy her gifts.

Charlotte, from Brisbane, bought the half-page ad space in Wednesday’s Courier-Mail to print a break-up letter to her former sweetheart known only as ‘T’.

On page 15 of the newspaper, the distressed woman bared her soul for the metropolitan region to see.

‘My Dearest T,’ she wrote. ‘Why’d you hurt me?’

Charlotte went on to list a short inventory of aspects she brought to the relationship that, she said, were not reciprocated.

Charlotte, from Brisbane, bought the half-page ad space in Wednesday’s Courier-Mail to print a break-up letter to her former sweetheart known only as ‘T’

‘I’ve spent late nights waiting for your to respond, to no avail. I’ve always picked you up, whenever you asked me to.

‘I’ve given you the space you needed, despite your control issues.’

Stricken with grief and anger, Charlotte went on to claim gifts bought for her by former partner were purchased with her credit card.

‘I’ve realised the gifts you “buy” for me, are actually bought with my credit card,’ she wrote, before abruptly ending the affair.

‘I’m done. I’m done with constantly giving and never receiving.

‘My friends think I deserve better. I think so too. So yes, honey, I’m breaking up with you. Over. This. Ad.’

Below a large purple lipstick kiss mark, she wrote: ‘Thank you, next. Charlotte.’
