‘Things you miss the most when you’re away’: Cricketer David Warner shares sweet photograph of his ‘girls’ as he returns to South Africa without them

Australian cricket legend David Warner recently returned to South Africa, following the ball-tampering scandal of 2018.

On Monday, the star batsman revealed he is missing his ‘girls’ as he shared a sweet photograph of his wife Candice, and their three daughters Ivy, Indi, and Isla.

‘Things you miss most when you’re away!’ the 33-year-old wrote on Instagram alongside the hashtags ‘#family and #mygirls’.

In the photo, Candice is seen sleeping as daughters Ivy, five, Indi Rae, three, and Isla Rose, five months, looked up at the camera and grimaced.

Candice accompanied David to South Africa in 2018 with the couple’s two young children, but is not with him for the current series.

The Instagram influencer’s PR agent Roxy Jacenko denied the ball tampering scandal was the the reason Ms Warner opted to stay home in Sydney.

‘Candice has work commitments during March and first half of April and looks forward to joining David in India for a month with the family following her professional commitments wrapping,’ she said.

In January, Candice told The Daily Telegraph she much prefers to ‘keeps to herself’ at matches and is more interested in cheering David on than becoming the centre of attention herself.

‘All I want to do is go to the cricket and support my husband,’ the mother-of-three said prior to attending the 2019 Boxing Day test match earlier in the week

‘We also understand that [attention] can be part and parcel at times. There’s always going to be more interest in their private life and what they do.’

Candice continued: ‘Everyone seems to love what the WAGs are up to.’

Discussing her approach to life as a WAG, she added: ‘I generally keep to myself, if I am at the cricket you’ll see me with friends and family or I’m sitting with my kids.’

David and Candice have been married since 2015.
