Cardi B questions the U.S. government’s response to coronavirus as millions remain in quarantine

Cardi B has not been shy about voicing her concerns and criticisms in regards to how the coronavirus pandemic has been handled by the United States.

But during her Instagram Live on Saturday night, the 27-year-old rapper clearly wanted more answers regarding what the government is doing while much of the population remains in quarantine.

‘Are y’all spraying s**t in the street, are y’all gonna one by one take our temperature to see if we got it? How am I supposed to know that I have the Coronavirus?’ ranted Cardi to her 60.8million followers.

Called out: Cardi B hosted an Instagram Live on Saturday, where she questioned the U.S. Government’s effectiveness at controlling the spread of the coronavirus, while millions remain quarantined

The Bodak Yellow rapper, donning a cherry red wig, revealed that her intense inquisition came about viewing a documentary style YouTube video that explained the action taken by Wuhan, China,

‘When they put Wuhan, China in quarantine… they were spraying s*** in the streets. They were knocking on each door taking people’s temperature.’

Wuhan is considered the origin point of the coronavirus, but cases in China have steadily resolved since the initial outbreak.

Cardi went on to express her frustration towards the uncertainty surrounding the virus’ initial asymptomatic nature.

‘Let’s say that I have the coronavirus right now, ok? How am I supposed to know I got it!? Because sometimes I be like “if you have a cough you have it.”

‘But then I be seeing these basketball players who say, like, “Yeah, I have the coronavirus, but I don’t got no symptoms.”

‘So, how the f*** am I supposed to know when I am supposed to, like, get tested for it?,’ questioned the rapper, her hands in the air with frustration.

She concluded: ‘That’s my problem right there. Y’all ain’t really saying what it is! Tell me what it IS and what it AIN’T!

On Wednesday, Cardi urged anyone who ‘work at the f**king Pentagon’ to get in contact with her, so that she could get a better understanding of COVID-19 and the efforts needed to stop its spread.

‘Let a b*tch know…I need to know. I don’t know if you can tell, but I’m losing my f–king mind. I want to get dressed up. I want to put a f**king lace front on, I want to put on my f**king expensive outfits, and I want to go out. And I can’t.’

Although Cardi has not – and will not – be able to make her way to a nightclub or a red carpet amid the coronavirus, the rapper was able to make her way up the charts this week.

Her coronavirus rant, produced by @iMarkkeyz, unexpectedly reached number 11 on the iTunes charts on Thursday.

In wake of its unexpected success, Cardi B revealed she would donate the proceeds from the track to victims of the deadly illness.

She replied to a fan on Twitter who wrote: ‘Yo if y’all are getting royalties off of this @iamcardib @iMarkkeyz maybe u could consider donating a part of it to food banks of shelters that are probably flooded with new people needing help?’

Just days before her explosive tirade entered the charts, Cardi said she was having to push back the release date of her new single because of COVID-19.

‘It’s delay due to the virus (sic),’ she confirmed on Twitter when one fan asked about the track’s progress.

There is nearly 7900 cases and 121 deaths of coronavirus in the United States as of Wednesday afternoon.
