Dua Lipa breaks down in tears as she announces she’s releasing her album early to ‘bring some happiness’ amid coronavirus pandemic

Dua Lipa broke down in tears as she announced changes to her upcoming tour and album amid the coronavirus pandemic. 

In an emotional Instagram Live on Monday, the 24-year-old singer revealed she would be postponing her UK and Europe tour dates, but hoped to ‘bring some happiness’ to fans by pulling up the release of her second album.

Dua was due to release Future Nostalgia on April 3, but announced she had pulled the date forward to March 27.

Growing emotional, she mused: ‘I hope it brings you some happiness and I hope it makes you smile, and I hope I make you proud.’

Insisting that her tour would also resume as soon as possible, she announced:  ‘Nothing’s been cancelled – the shows have been postponed for the health and safety of everyone.

‘The new dates for the UK and Europe will be coming out tomorrow, 10am London time, and I will be announcing the new dates the second they come in.

‘They will be coming in shortly…’

The New Rules’ hitmaker’s tour had been due to kick off in Madrid, Spain on April 26, and wrap at in Dublin, Ireland, on June 19.

She said: ‘I’m excited because it’s my forte, dance-crying.

‘And although the song comes from a really happy place, it’s me writing about the fact I am in love and I am so excited, and so happy, but I’m like, ‘When is it going to go wrong.’

‘But not even in that sense … It’s a celebration of vulnerability and allowing yourself to feel these things, not really something to ever have an end to it.’ 

Dua has been practising social distancing amid the global coronavirus pandemic, and has been residing in her London flat with boyfriend Anwar Hadid.

Dua and Anwar are believed to have connected with each other over their musical talents, with both confessing they are fans of one another.

They first confirmed their romance when they put on a cosy display at the British Summer Time event in July.

Anwar is also a model, following in the footsteps of his elder sisters, Gigi and Bella Hadid.
