Tracy Grimshaw is furious after doctors refused to test her for coronavirus

A Current Affair’s Tracy Grimshaw claims doctors REFUSED to test her for coronavirus because she wasn’t showing symptoms – so how did Dickie get tested?

A Current Affair’s Tracy Grimshaw was pulled off the air amid fears she may have contracted coronavirus from Tom Hanks’ wife Rita Wilson earlier this month.

But the Channel Nine presenter, 59, claims doctors refused to test her for COVID-19 at the time because she wasn’t showing any symptoms.

‘I tried to get tested but I couldn’t get tested. Our testing criteria was so strict that because I didn’t have any symptoms they literally refused to test me,’ she told The Kyle And Jackie O Show on Thursday.

‘They literally refused!’ Tracy Grimshaw, 59, claims that doctors refused to test her for coronavirus [COVID-19] earlier this month because she wasn’t showing any symptoms

Tracy said that while she ‘actually felt fine’, there was still a chance she had contracted the virus without showing symptoms.

‘My exposure wasn’t just through Rita [Wilson] using my dressing room, I had other exposure to someone who had been with them for several hours,’ Tracy admitted.

Bizarrely, Nine entertainment reporter Richard ‘Dickie’ Wilkins somehow managed to get himself tested at the time.

Like Tracey, Dickie wasn’t showing any signs of the coronavirus, even though he’d been in close contact with Tom and Rita days before they tested positive.

‘Dickie managed to get tested and he didn’t have a symptom, and guess what, he’s still positive,’ Tracey said in disbelief.

‘Doesn’t that make you wonder how many of us may have it without realising it?’ Jackie replied.

Tom and Rita both tested positive for coronavirus three days after Rita appeared as a guest on Nine’s morning show Today Extra.

Tom was also present on set when his musician wife was being interviewed.

At the time, Nine announced that Tracey would cease hosting A Current Affair tonight because Rita had used the journalist’s dressing room at a time when she may have been contagious.

A Nine spokesperson said: ‘Tracy Grimshaw is not hosting ACA tonight as a precautionary measure since she had minor surgery last week. Karl Stefanovic will host in her place.’
