A boss who turned herself into a potato when she switched filters during an online video meeting was forced to stay that way when she couldn’t turn it off.

Lizet Ocampo, the Washington, D.C.-based political director at People for the American Way was left stumped when she suddenly became a potato during a Microsoft Teams meeting.

Her employee Rachele Clegg couldn’t help but screenshot the hilarious moment her confused boss tried to get rid of the awkward filter.

She penned: ‘My boss turned herself into a potato on our Microsoft teams meeting and can’t figure out how to turn the setting off, so she was just stuck like this the entire meeting.’ [sic] 

The screenshot shows Rachele and one other employee trying their best to hold in their giggles while Lizet, in potato form, looks frustrated at her predicament. 

Since she couldn’t work out how to get rid of the filter the team were forced to continue the meeting despite the oddity.

Lizet, who wasn’t on Twitter at the time the post went viral, later joined the social media site.

She wrote: ‘I yam potato boss. You should see me in a crown, right @billieeilish?

She told Mirror Online she wanted to keep spirits high within her team to encourage them to work as hard as they can.  

‘Everything about the potato story is hilarious: the fact that it happened, the look of the potato (my) face, and the expressions on the faces of my colleagues,’ she added.

‘We all need a laugh right now, and it’s extra special that this brought so many people in our lives a little bit of joy.’

Rachele later revealed she was not going to be fired for sharing her boss’ awkward moment online.

She penned: ‘The good news is that my boss, Lizet Ocampo, will not be sacking me tomorrow.

Twitter users were left in stitches by Lizet’s mistake, with a few making some cheesy pun-filled jokes about her  

‘We hashed it all out tonight and our team is still laughing with you all. STAY PLANTED AT HOME.’

Twitter loved Lizet’s time as a potato, and users flooded into the comments to share their opinions.

One said: ‘This made me actuall laugh for the first time today (it’s 8:30 pm). Tell her thanks for that!’ [sic]

Another added: ‘I want to congratulate her colleagues that could keep running this meeting under this situation. It would be impossible for me.’
