Padma Lakshmi’s daughter Krishna pranks her while she’s sleeping for a belated April Fool’s Day

As quarantining at home continues amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, some are getting just a little stir-crazy with cabin fever, as is clearly the case here.

Top Chef longtime host Padma Lakshmi was quite busy on Instagram on Thursday, as she took over the account for lifestyle content site The Cut, but it seems her daughter Krishna wasn’t having it.

Padma, 49, was trying to grab a catnap in between the recipe demos and exercise workouts she was doing, but Krishna, 10, had other plans: she took to repeatedly trying to wake her mom as a prank.

First, the little prankster approached her beautiful and fast asleep mother on the couch, and yelled ‘Mom!’ really loud, causing Padma to jolt awake.

Later, Padma’s daughter with Adam R. Dell used the tips of her long brown hair to tickle her exasperated mother’s nose as she tried to grab some more zzz’s. 

Krishna couldn’t help but giggle devilishly as she disturbed her mom, who appeared to have her nose covered in something white when she woke up, saying, ‘Stop! What is that?!’

And it was all captured on the IG Stories of both Padma’s account, as well as that of The Cut. 

Over the clips, Padma jokingly wrote, ‘Quarantine day 20, but who’s counting?’ and ‘Belated April Fool’s’. 

Lakshmi was clearly enjoying the at-home time with her daughter though, even if she was a little stir crazy, as earlier on in her Story she remarked ‘lord, please give me one ounce of this energy’.

She wrote it over a clip of Krishna jumping and dancing around the living room, as children do, screaming and singing at the top of her lungs. 

And later, Padma was seen teaching her little girl a thing or two about food criticism, as she asked Krishna to critique what she had made as they stood at the stove in the kitchen.

At one point, Krishna tells her mom that the sauce needs to be thicker, to which Padma says, ‘So, it’s bland. That’s fine, tell me! I’m asking you.’ 

Krishna then responds, ‘Yes, it’s a little bland.’

At the end of her Insta Story, Padma reminded fans that Season 17 of Top Chef returns on Thursday night with a brand new episode on Bravo, still featuring her as a judge.
