James Bond actor George Lazenby, 80, washes hands and windows at gas station in Los Angeles

George Lazenby washed his hands and car windows Sunday as the former James Bond star stopped at a gas station in Los Angeles amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The 80-year-old Australian actor donned a red sweater over a grey shirt along with dark blue jeans and blue sneakers while making a pit stop in the Brentwood area.

George was spotted using a squeegee to clean his windows and drying his hands with a paper towel after cleaning them.

The New South Wales native accessorized with a watch and had his silver hair swept  back.

George played Ian Fleming’s fictional British secret agent James Bond in the 1969 film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. 

He took on the role at age 29 and was the youngest actor to portray Bond as well as the only Bond actor to receive a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year – Actor and the only non-European actor to portray Agent 007 in the official Bond series. 

George during the making of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service announced he would play Bond only once and declined to reprise his portrayal of Bond in later films.

The Australian-born star was a car salesman and a model before he landed the iconic role. 

George took over the 007 role from Sean Connery, 89, who played the secret agent in the first five Bond films.

After declining to pay Bond again, George continued to act in Italy, Hong Kong, Australia and Hollywood.

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service also starred that late Telly Savalas as villain Blofeld and Diana Rigg, 81, as Bond girl Contessa Teresa di Vicenzo.

George was married from 1971 to 1995 to Christina Gannett  and they had children Melania and Zachary, who died at age 19 after being diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor when he was age 11.

The actor later married tennis star Pam Shriver, 57, in 2002 and she filed for divorce in 2008 after they had three children together, including twins born in 2005.
