A cabinet minister has been accused of visiting his parents despite the coronavirus lockdown.
Robert Jenrick, 38, Secretary of State for Housing was spotted visiting his parents at their home in Shropshire last weekend.
The minister, who has publicly urged the public to adhere to the strict lockdown regulations, drove more 40 miles to visit his parents.

On April 1, Mr Jenrick was appearing live on television from his Hertfordshire home

A source told The Guardian, the minister admitted making the trip but claimed he was dropping off food and medication for his parents – both of which are permitted under the Covid-19 regulations.
Local residents have been collecting food and essentials for Mr Jenrick’s parents.
He wrote in the Mail On Sunday: ‘While we create physical distance between ourselves, we must at the same time have closer social support for our neighbours’.
Commenting on Twitter, Mr Jenrick said: ‘For clarity – my parents asked me to deliver some essentials – including medicines. They are both self-isolating due to age and my father’s medical condition and I respected social distancing rules.’
