Diego went on to discuss his recent projects and answer some fan questions, and he addressed whether or not he will return for future seasons of Narcos: Mexico.

The Y Tu Mamá También star played Mexican drug lord Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo for the hit Netflix show for two seasons, going up against Michael Peña’s DEA agent Kiki Camarena and Scoot McNairy’s Walt Breslin respectively.

And while his character is still alive by the end of the latest series, Diego admitted that he wasn’t in a rush to return anytime soon.

When asked about if he’d go back, he said: ‘Not for now, not for now, no, no, no.’

Of his reasoning, Diego explained: ‘At the beginning it was fun, but then it became really heavy for me… I need rest, those two years were really intense for me.’

Discussing how other actors can leave work behind when they return home, he said living in Mexico meant he ‘still live[s] with the result of what happened in the 80s and 90s’ and thus couldn’t separate himself easily from the character.
