She recently made the bold decision to do her own hair colour at home during coronavirus lockdown with a box dye kit, which ended in catastrophe.

On Friday, the Love Island Australia host, 40, revealed to her followers that she used a purple shampoo from Fudge Professional.

The TV presenter’s hair was drenched in the violet treatment and she also put on wax strips on her upper lip to remove unwanted hair.

She wrote in the caption alongside an Instagram picture: ‘Thank you so much for all your advice with my messed up box dying experience. Purple shampoo worked!’

‘Finally, I got my hair back to normal! whoop whoop! I washed it for a week with @fudgehairau and it got rid of all the yellow.’

According to Fudge Professional, the violet-coloured shampoo is said to ‘Neutralise and cleanse whilst instantly removing brassy yellow tones from blonde hair’

But the former Bardot star warned her followers: ‘Don’t box dye your hair.’

Sophie also shared a picture of her results after using the shampoo, which showed her with glossy blonde tresses.

After painting the dye onto her hair, Sophie revealed the final result, which appeared a strange tinge of yellow.

She warned her followers: ‘If you’re wondering whether to box dye your hair during quarantine – don’t do it. It looks like my hair had a fight with a twisty packet.

‘It’s a bit Eminem,’ she said of her look, before advising her fans to wait until they can visit their hairdresser.
