‘It is a really crazy time’: Artem Chigvintsev reveals he was forced to miss a baby scan with fiancée Nikki Bella amid COVID-19 restrictions as he discusses the impending birth

And Artem Chigvintsev opened up on the pair going through the pregnancy during the COVID-19 pandemic, revealing he was forced to miss a previous baby scan due to restrictions.
But despite their worries, the former Strictly Come Dancing star, 37, and ex WWE wrestling star, 36, are excited about the birth, with Artem revealing: ‘We can’t wait to meet our baby.’

Amid the spread of coronavirus, the country was put into lockdown and strict social distancing restrictions were put in place, meaning that Nikki had to travel to her last baby scan alone.
Describing the situation in an interview with Hello! magazine, Artem said: ‘It is a really crazy time. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens with the new restrictions.
‘We usually go for pregnancy scans together but I couldn’t go to the last one, because new rules meant that Nikki couldn’t bring anyone to the hospital. Having a baby is a big deal, so we hope things get better for when the baby arrives.’
And amid this uncertain time, the professional dancer is vowing to remain positive and instead focus on the prospect of becoming a father for the first time.

He said: ‘I’ve always wanted to have kids – I think it’s something that every human should experience. We are very lucky.’
Artem went on to say that the pair, who live together in Phoenix, Arizona, were ‘praying’ for a healthy child and that things will go ‘well’ with the birth, adding they ‘can’t wait’ to meet their new arrival.
The Russian star and Nikki in 2017 when they were partnered on Dancing with the Stars, the US version of Strictly Come Dancing.

They’ve been inseparable ever since, with the pair announcing their engagement in January.
Discussing the romantic proposal in Paris, which saw their pair serenaded by a string quartet, Artem said that Nikki ‘did not expect’ him to get down on one knee.
And the dancer insisted that Paris was the perfect place to pop the question as his Total Bellas star girl is a huge fan of the city’s culture, adding it made ‘total sense’ to propose there.
