Jamie revealed in March that he had been forced to film his show Keep Cooking And Carry On from his home using his mobile phone amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Taking to Instagram, he said: ‘We turned around last week’s series of Keep Cooking and Carry On very very quickly. A three-month job in three days.

‘Of course now the government have said we have to stay at home, so we’re doing that. And we’re now going to be doing the second season, like we ever expected this, we never planned it, in our home.’

He then went on to say that he has ‘no crew’ to film the show and that wife Jools would be stepping in to fill the crew’s shoes.

He continued: ‘There’s no crew, no equipment, I’m doing it on my phone. My new crew member is my wife.’

Panning the camera around to a room where Jools was sitting by a window, Jamie added: ‘We’re doing it in the coldest part of the house, because it’s got decent light here. The sound is terrible so we put the sofas around like that.’

He then showed his sofas leaned up against the walls in a bid to block out external sound. He also showed a table set up to create his latest recipe.

He went on to wish fans well and urged them to tune into the next episode of the cooking show.

In March, Jamie announced the Channel 4 programme in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.

As well as making easy-to-make meals, Jamie will also be teaching viewers how they can make their own bread and pasta.

In a statement, Jamie said of the show: ‘Cooking nutritious meals for yourself and your loved ones has never been more important.

‘This show will be packed with easy and delicious recipes that the whole family can enjoy, plus loads of tips, tricks and hacks for simple swaps and ways you can make the recipes work with what you’ve got.

‘Let’s big up those store cupboard and freezer faves and hero recipes you can take lots of ways.’

Jamie has helped aspiring chefs for decades with his easy-to-follow recipes, from cookbooks like 5 Ingredients that focuses on making meals with minimal items, to his many different cooking shows.

He catapulted to fame in 1999 at the age of 24 when he was offered his own TV show, The Naked Chef, on the back of his stint working at The River cafe in London.

However, Jamie has had a turbulent past year following 22 of his Jamie’s Italian restaurants closing in May 2019.

Administrators recently revealed that much of the £80million-plus owed by the collapsed Italian chain, launched by the chef in 2008, will probably never be paid back to creditors. This resulted in as many as 1,000 job losses.
