Her most successful single ‘Absolutely Everybody’ became a global hit after her debut album was released in April 2000.

And on Wednesday, two decades on from her rise to fame, Vanessa Amorosi stunned fans with her glamorous appearance.

The 38-year-old singer looked very different than she did in her heyday while on Nine’s Today show to promote her new COVID-19 project ‘Isolation’.

The Australian singer-songwriter sported eyeliner and makeup which accentuated her striking features on the brief TV interview.

She told entertainer reporter Brooke Boney via a video link from her Los Angeles home that she would be releasing new music every Monday while in lockdown.

‘Being in lockdown, my mind and my thoughts are my own worst enemy – so Isolation is all about that and I hope that it [her new project] connects with people,’ Vanessa said during the chat.

Vanessa looked different from her younger years in the spotlight – where she had red hair and sported a huge fringe across her forehead.

She let her luscious brunette locks down and wore a white singlet that showed off her arm tattoos.

In an interview with news.com.au in 2019, Vanessa reflected on her absence from the spotlight.

‘I just don’t want to release crappy music. I hate going away, that’s never the intention — I really enjoy what I do. But I just don’t want to release crap,’ she said at the time.

‘I’m hoping it doesn’t happen again — I got to the end of having such great success, and I just didn’t have anything else to offer anybody.’

Vanessa is now happily wed to mixed martial artist Rod Busby, with the pair tying the knot in 2017 after meeting in a line for coffee at a bookshop cafe in America.

The couple now own a gym together, and are proud parents to their son, Killian, four.

Away from her transformation, 2019 was a huge year for Vanessa.

She released her first new album in a decade, featuring songs such as Hello Me and Heavy Lies The Head.

The singer was also announced as an artist taking part in Australia Decides 2020, in a bid represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in the Netherlands.

Unfortunately for Vanessa, Montaigne, real name Jessica Alyssa Cerro, was overwhelmingly voted as the winner to represent Australia at the Eurovision song.

However, this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, which was set for May, will no longer take place due to the global coronavirus outbreak.
