Cher Lloyd has revealed she is fearful for her father’s health after he has been hospitalised twice during the coronavirus lockdown.

The singer, 26, said it is ‘really scary’ not being able to be with her parents Darren and Dina- especially as her father suffers from pre-existing health conditions.

When asked about how she is finding lockdown, the X Factor star told House of Solo: ‘I think the biggest thing is not being able to see family. I miss my mum and dad a lot. Before the lockdown I spent a lot of time with them.

‘My dad hasn’t been well for a long time and the idea of not being able to be close is a really scary thought.

‘He’s actually been in hospital twice during the lockdown with his pre-existing conditions and every single time I get the phone call, I ask myself: “Is this going to be because of his pre-existing condition or is this going to be the call that I’m dreading?”‘

Cher, who was catapulted to fame in 2010 when she finished fourth in the X Factor, is in lockdown with her husband Craig Monk and daughter Delilah-Rae.

The popstar said: ‘It’s really good to be able to spend some quality time with my family, just us. Normally I’m here, there and everywhere, he’s [Craig] always busy so right now we’re just enjoying getting to spend every moment possible with our little girl.

‘We’ve seen her grow up really quickly in the last couple of weeks, she’s nearly two, and I feel like this is the best time, when they’re so young and coming out with such funny little things!’

The mother-of-one, who released her new single Lost on Friday, also talked about what she decides to share on her social media channels.

Cher said the intense scrutiny at the start of her career when she was only 16 has made her more guarded.

Cher said: ‘I’ve never been that fantastic with sharing “me” at home, and that stems from me having a bit of a c****y time with it at the beginning.

‘Because of that I’ve always had this big guard up, so it will take a bit of time for me to feel comfortable clicking on Instagram live and going: “hey guys, wassap!”.’

And the singer also took issue with celebrities showcasing their privilege while many are suffering during the coronavirus pandemic.

She said: ‘There’s also the other thing of people showing off what they’ve got right now, and I’m not really one for doing that. I think there’s something quite cringey about it.

‘I’ve seen a few things of people saying: “stay indoors we’ll get through this”, but in the background there’s a massive pool, and you just think, “oh be quiet!”. In the nicest possible way! I just think some people need a bit more awareness!’

On Tuesday, Cher released the stills for her new music video.

The songstress looked incredible as she slipped into a vintage showgirl look with a silver embellished corset and matching briefs.

She also teamed a bright blue sheer robe with a feathered trim and matching marabou heeled slippers.

The singer took to Instagram as she shared the new snaps and wrote: ‘I can’t wait for you all to see it! Eeeekkk . . . I’m also a little bit nervous too.’

Cher took a break from music in 2014 after releasing her album Sorry I’m Late but has released a couple of records since then.
