Before reaching supermodel fame, Irina Shayk grew up in the poverty-stricken village of Yemanzhelinsk.
While the Russian supermodel, 34, looked radiant in her latest snap, all eyes were on the book in her hand, which featured her native country’s president Vladimir Putin on the cover.
In response, the Victoria’s Secret vet’s 13.5 million Instagram followers flooded her comment section on Sunday to voice their confusion over her reading material.

Another pointed out her support of the controversial leader would be unlikely or hypocritical, as Putin pushes to uphold ‘traditional family values’ and condemns heterosexual unions.
Despite finding success in her career and in high-profile relationships with her daughter’s dad Cooper from 2015-2019 and, five years prior, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Shayk faced a number of challenges during her upbringing.
