Rita Ora drops teaser of Eric Clapton cover Change The World she recorded pre-lockdown

She is currently spending lockdown in her rented home in the Cotswolds amid the coronavirus pandemic.

But wanting to uplift fans while they’re isolating, Rita Ora dropped a teaser of her singing a cover of Eric Clapton’s Change The World on Instagram on Tuesday, as she feels the song is ‘really appropriate’ in the current climate.

The Let You Love Me hit-maker, 29, had filmed the recording before lockdown measures had been introduced by the UK government and told fans it had been an ‘honour’ to perform.

‘It feels appropriate right now’: Rita Ora has dropped a teaser of her covering Eric Clapton track Change The World on Instagram, as she felt the song is ‘appropriate’ in the current coronavirus crisis

The teaser video, shared by Rita online, sees her looking relaxed while dressed in double denim, as she prepares to perform the Clapton track in a make-shift studio.

As the intro to the song plays, Rita is seen standing in front of the microphone swaying along. She introduces the track by saying: ‘This one is for the people.’

Fans will have to wait a little longer until Rita drops the full video, with the vocal talent telling her followers in the caption alongside her post: ‘This one’s for the people!!! I filmed this earlier in the year before lockdown.

‘I’m so happy to share it with you all tomorrow!! I felt it’s really appropriate for right now! I filmed a cover video of ‘Change The World’ by the amazing @ericclapton!’

It comes as Rita has been making the most of being stuck at her rented home in the Cotswolds while lockdown restrictions are in place.

She came under fire for supposedly ‘leaving locals furious’ by heading to her second home during the COVID-19 pandemic, which is 150 miles away from her London pad.

It’s thought she is staying with five people in the rural property, located in South-West England, after the group got stuck there during a trip booked prior to the coronavirus crisis.

The group are supposedly working on her new album and lockdown measures were put into place, just days into their trip.

Sources, meanwhile, told The Sun that Rita is ‘deadly serious’ about the lockdown and is ‘self-isolating and not travelling home’.

They also denied report of ‘raucous parties’ or upsetting behaviour to locals. MailOnline contacted Rita’s representative for comment at the time of publication.

Getting involved to raise awareness of coronavirus relief efforts and lighten the spirits of fans stuck at home, Rita joined a slew of celebs in BBC Radio 1’s biggest ever Live Lounge cover.
