Ryan Reynolds jokes about missing his ‘secret family’ while quarantining with wife Black Lively

Ryan Reynolds hasn’t lost his sense of humor after about two months in quarantine amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Deadpool star, 43, teased his wife Blake Lively and their three daughters about having another family during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Referencing a joke he made months ago about having secret family in Denmark, Ryan said that it was a ‘toss-up’ when it came to which family to go into sequester with at the outset of the outbreak.

Jokester: Ryan Reynolds joked about it being a toss up of whether to go into quarantine with his Denmark family or Hollywood family during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday

‘It’s one of those things where it’s a split-second decisions, right? You’re thinking, oh yea we’ve all got to quarantine together,’ he explained.

‘But you’re thinking this is only going to be for a few days. At least I like the people– I love them, the people I’m quarantined with.’

In the interview from his home, Reynolds revealed he has been quarantined with Lively, their three kids, and his mother-in law.

‘It was a toss-up for a minute there, should I quarantine with my public facing family or my secret family in Denmark? It was a real toss-up,’ he joked before adding that he missed his Denmark family, ‘Luna, Lekhet and Uhn very much so,’ which got big laughs from Fallon.

‘I went with the Hollywood family. It’s been great. It’s a decision I don’t regret at all. It’s been fun.’

Never one to shy away from making himself the butt of the joke, Reynolds said being home all the time right now ‘sets a dangerous precedent’ for himself in the eyes of his kids.

‘I think when we look back at this thing years from now, they’re going to think about me and how I used to be a present dad. And I worry about that,’ he teased.

When the joking subsided for a moment, Reynolds talked about how he was trying to appreciate the time he has spent with his family, and how it has helped him hone his parenting skills, while also pointing out that this has been a time of anxiety for a lot of people.

‘We actually only exist as a couple online. It’s manufactured by the studio system and it’s worked out pretty well for us,’ he joked before adding, ‘I’m actually married to a women named Louise in Denmark. We have four kids, and it’s been amazing.’

Reynolds and Lively were actually wed back in 2012 during a ceremony in South Carolina and are the parent to daughters James, five, Inez, three, and a third girl who was born in October 2019 whose name hasn’t been disclosed.

During his interview with Fallon, Reynolds also revealed he had been about halfway done with the filming a new movie, Red Notice with Duane ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Gal Gadot, when it was shut down due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
