While the annual celebration is marked in March in the UK, America’s holiday was held last Sunday and a source told OprahMag.com that the family had a ‘special day’ with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.

Meghan, 38, and Harry, 35, are currently staying at Hollywood tycoon Tyler Perry’s $18 million mansion with their son, having officially stepped back from royal duties at the end of March.

The couple and Doria were said to be ‘cautious of social distancing guidelines’ throughout their time together.

California has since released new guidelines to lay the groundwork for reopening dine-in restaurants, shopping malls and office buildings.

As well as spending time with Meghan’s mother, Prince Harry has reportedly been ‘very busy keeping in touch with friends and colleagues’ in the UK with video calls, but feels ‘a bit rudderless’ without a job or friends in Los Angeles.

A source told Vanity Fair: ‘This is a very strange time for us all, but I think Harry is missing having a structure to his life right now. He doesn’t have friends in L.A. like Meghan and he doesn’t have a job.’

The source revealed how Prince Harry has been incredibly busy during the lockdown period having conference calls, with much of his time dedicated to keeping in touch with friends and colleagues.

The Duke is also ‘keeping up regular communication’ with the organisations and patronages which he works at in the UK, according to the source.

They went on to explain that Prince Harry ‘misses’ his friends within the military community at home, adding: ‘At the moment he’s a bit rudderless, but it won’t always be like this, and he knows that.’

However, the upside is that the crisis has reportedly led to a thawing of relations with the Cambridges.

Speaking on Entertainment Tonight, royal expert Katie Nicholl claimed Prince Harry and Prince William are ‘back in touch’ and have been chatting on the phone – leading to a ‘sense of relief’ from the Sussexes and the Cambridges.

She said: ‘They have done video calls together, they have done a lot of family birthdays and I think with Prince Charles not being well, that really forced the brothers to pick up the phone and get back in touch.

Harry and Meghan have also been keeping busy by checking in with their charities and patronages, and volunteering to deliver food to vulnerable people.

The couple surprised a group of mental health charity workers on Wednesday by tuning into their staff video meeting.

Ricky Neal, who works for Crisis Text Line in Atlanta, took to social media on Thursday to share a photo of a staff Zoom call where the duke and duchess were royal guests.

‘It’s not everyday that Meghan and Harry jump into your staff meeting & champion the work you do! Blessed to still be working during these crazy times!’ he said in an Instagram post.

It is unknown what the video call entailed however, Harry and Meghan, who are known advocates for mental health issues, have worked with the charity in the past.

The couple helped launch the Crisis Text Line’s UK affiliate, Shout, last May in a joint project with Prince William and Kate Middleton.
