Former EastEnders boss Dominic Treadwell-Collins rushed to hospital after his BAFTA fell and knocked him unconscious

Former EastEnders boss Dominic Treadwell-Collins was rushed to hospital after his BAFTA fell on his head and knocked him unconscious.

The TV producer, 42, took to Instagram to document what had happened once he was safely home following the incident. 

Dominic revealed that the the bronze award weighing 3.7kg fell from a cupboard in his home and landed on his head.

Taking to his Instagram Story, Dominic shared a close-up photo of the accolade and wrote: ‘So.. This (note the newly chipped nose.. Fell off the top of a cupboard and onto my head.’

Dominic shared an image of himself with a large bandage across his forehead, however it seems that he only suffered a minor injury during the ordeal. 

He also shared an image of himself wearing a wearing mask around his nose, likely to protect himself from coronavirus while in hospital

Ouch! Dominic revealed that the the bronze award weighing 3.7kg fell from a cupboard in his home and landed on his head.

He added on the picture: ‘3.5kg of bronze. A lot of blood and then I passed out. Ambulanced to A&E.’

In a second photo of the award, he joked: ‘Think Bafta came off worse… Drama.’

Dominic revealed that the nose of the BAFTA had been chipped during the accident.

He received the accolade in May 2016 when EastEnders bagged the award for the Soap and Continuing Drama award while he was in charge.

Dominic’s career on the soap began in 2005 as a senior story editor and he is the man behind creating much-loved characters Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell.

The TV boss also masterminded the Who Killed Archie Michell? whodunit storyline among others.

Dominic stepped down from his role but returned just three years later as an executive producer.

He left in 2016 and tearfully accepted his BAFTA just days later.
