Guy Sebastian is set to return as a judge on the new season of Channel Nine’s The Voice alongside Boy George, Kelly Rowland and Delta Goodrem.

But the judges have reportedly been forced to take pay cuts in order for the Channel Nine show to go ahead.

In an interview on KIIS FM’s The Kyle and Jackie O show on Wednesday, the 38-year-old broke his silence on claims the judges received pay cuts due to COVID-19.

Guy told co-hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson: ‘There are no pay cuts or not that I know of.’

‘I think they are still paying us which is very nice [otherwise] I have got no idea,’ the former Australian Idol star added.

This comes after New Idea reported that staff may be forced to take pay cuts due to the coronavirus pandemic.

An insider told the publication that the celebrity coaches and hosts Renee Bargh and Darren McMullen were ‘less than happy’ with the news.

‘Executives have said the pay cuts had to be equal across the board. However, [it is tricky because] the judges are all on individual contracts,’ an insider said.

‘They eventually had all of their managers step in and argue their case.’

The Playoff rounds were scheduled to be recorded in front of a studio audience at Bulldog Park in Sydney’s south west on March 26 and 27 but filming was postponed.

A Nine spokesperson confirmed the news to Daily Mail Australia.

‘Filming of The Voice has been temporarily postponed in the wake of the coronavirus and new Government protocols,’ they said.

‘The show is still currently on track to begin airing in its originally planned time frame, which will be announced in the coming months.
