She’s been passionately campaigning and protesting with the Black Lives Matter movement over the past few weeks.

And Madison Beer let her hair down as she attended a friend’s birthday dinner at Nobu Malibu on Sunday.

The singer, 21, put on a leggy display in a fitted black mini-dress and an oversized leather jacket.

The musician completed her ensemble with grungy Doc Marten boots and wore a black face mask as she made her way inside.

Madison pulled back her brunette tresses with a butterfly clip and left a few strands loose to frame her face.

Before heading inside, The Dear Society singer climbed out of her black Range Rover and flashed a peace sign at the camera.

It was the same SUV that got the YouTube sensation in hot water earlier this month when protesting for Black Lives Matter.

Madison had been participating in several protests throughout Los Angeles including one that saw her posing with a sign taking a knee on top of the car.

She received her fair share of criticism online as one commenter wrote: ‘Of course Madison Beer had to use this opportunity for a photo op lmaooo this is what we call performative activism.’

One of her followers on Twitter asked if rumours were true that she had used the movement as a ‘photo op’, to which Madison replied: ‘The photoshoot rumours are wildly untrue. I have been protesting for days.

‘This is not and never was a photo op it is me standing with a movement and getting out there to spread a message I believe in. That is all.’

Another Twitter user also replied to the Twitter post insisting that the singer was there for all the right reasons.

A fan wrote: ‘Completely false rumours. I ran into Madison as well two days ago in Santa Monica as I was also out there documenting what is going on.

‘I was standing next to her as she was tear gassed. She’s been out fighting for this since it started. Don’t believe everything you read.’

After another ‘peaceful protest’, Madison took to her Instagram Live as she choked back smoke after she was hit by tear gas while demonstrating.

Madison urged other protesters to flee the scene after police arrived and started firing gas.

‘If anyone’s in Santa Monica, please leave now. They’re tear-gassing everything, everywhere,’ Madison said as she streamed the protest on her Instagram. ‘I was just tear-gassed and I can’t breathe.’

The star also warned her fans and fellow protestors about the police tactics in a post she shared with fans on Twitter.

‘LEAVE SANTA MONICA NOW IF YOU CAN I WAS JUST TEAR GASSED THEY ARE ARRESTING EVERYONE AND TEAR GASSING ALL CROWDS,’ she wrote.

Earlier, she had posted a screen capture of her masked face to her Instagram Story, upon which she wrote, ‘I want to make something abundantly clear. Stop saying myself, and the crowd of protestors I was with, was rightfully tear gassed.

‘We were PEACEFULLY protesting,’ she continued, addressing her detractors. ‘Tear gassing us was so unnecessary and painful now stop saying it was warranted’.
