Susanna Reid revealed she has decided to take a break from social media during her appearance on Good Morning Britain on Monday.

The 49-year-old said she had been horrified by what she has been seeing online recently amid the Black Lives Matter protests.

Shock: Susanna Reid revealed she is ‘taking a break from social media’ on Good Morning Britain on Monday as she and Piers Morgan said they’re horrified by racism online

Piers said he had received a backlash online after he took aim at Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab over his discussion about ‘taking the knee’.

Raab had said he would only take the knee for his wife or the Queen and Piers mocked him saying: ‘No one was asking you to take the knee’ but said he should understand why others were.

Piers said on Monday: ‘The level of racism spewing on social media right now is…’

Susanna chimed in: ‘I’ve taken a step back to be frank, from social media at the moment.’

On Sunday, Piers called out a troll who wrote: ‘Piers hurry up and die you xxxx.’

In agreement: Piers said: ‘The level of racism spewing on social media right now is…’ and Susanna stepped in to say she was taking a break

Piers defended the girl and called out the trolls, saying: ‘This is so disgusting. Twitter’s getting worse by the day.

‘Nobody should be subjected to this kind of vile filth. Down pointing backhand index.’

Susanna had also called someone out for sending her a sexist remark. After writing a piece on cycling, a man tweeted her: ‘You are a bike.’

She responded: ‘Excellent contribution to the debate Grant.’
