Literally dozens were left heartbroken when the 2020 Logie Awards were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

And as the scheduled date of the ceremony passed without fanfare on Sunday, a handful of Australian celebrities shared some of their favourite Logies moments on social media.

The Morning Show host Larry Emdur uploaded a photo from the 1992 Logies that showed him posing on the red carpet with a pre-Hollywood fame Naomi Watts.

With his signature self-deprecating humour, Larry joked about how the pair’s careers took very different paths in the years after the picture was taken.

He wrote: ‘Because it was meant to be Logies night here’s a Logies quiz. One of these people went on to be a duel Oscar nominee and a magnificent multi-award winning superstar of the big and small screen.

‘The other went on to host Celebrity Dog School and have his image used in a FAKE Facebook ad for an erectile dysfunction cure. Can you pick it?

‘I understand this is a tricky question so I’ll give you 24 hours to lodge your answer and your time starts… now! Hello @naomiwatts from 1992.’

Naomi, 51, did indeed go on to bigger and better things after her appearance at the Logies almost three decades ago.

Nine years after posing on the red carpet with Larry, she scored her breakthrough role in 2001 psychological thriller Mulholland Drive.

The mother of two went on to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress twice, in 21 Grams (2003) and The Impossible (2012).

Of course, Larry’s career is nothing to sneeze at either.

In addition to hosting the short-lived Celebrity Dog School, he is the co-anchor of Channel Seven’s The Morning Show alongside Kylie Gillies.

He also fronted The Price Is Right from 1993 to 1998 and later 2003 to 2005 on Nine.

In recent years, he has unwittingly been the face of several online scams falsely claiming he is the spokesperson for an erectile dysfunction cure.

These Facebook scams typically pose as news articles claiming Larry has confessed to his erectile dysfunction on live TV and is now ready to share his miracle cure with the world.
