Piers Morgan sports a pair of crutches after suffering a leg injury while on holiday with his family

Piers Morgan has revealed he has ended up on crutches after tearing a tendon on the second day of a six-week family holiday to St Tropez.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, 55, who is in the south of France with his three sons Spencer, 26, Stanley, 22, and Albert, 19, shared a snap of himself using the crutches on Monday. 

Alongside the photo, he wrote: ‘Peg-leg. (nothing like tearing a tendon on Day 2 of a 6-week holiday) ⁦#StTropez’. 

Piers hasn’t let the mishap get him down too much as he still looked in good spirits in the photograph while posing alongside his sons. 

The TV star stood in front of a picturesque view of the sea as he soaked up the sun during his holiday.   

The broadcaster has the rest of the summer off his hosting duties on Good Morning Britain and has already shared several snaps from his stay in France.

Piers appeared to be well and truly settling into holiday mode, as he recently shared a playful snap with a giant portion of paella.

The former newspaper editor, who was planning to tuck into the seafood dish for lunch, joked he was concerned there wouldn’t be enough to go around.

Last week, he took a snap of himself on an airplane while sporting a face mask as he departed the UK.

He branded himself a ‘washed up, knackered pathetic excuse for a celebrity’ as he jetted out of Britain, playing on ITV show I’m A Celebrity’s famous tag line as he wrote: ‘Get me outta here!’  

Piers captioned the snap: ‘I’m a washed up, knackered, pathetic excuse for a celebrity – get me outta here. Bye Britain, it’s been… surreal.’

Shortly after arriving, Piers shared a breathtaking snap of the skyline at sunset from his villa, which the location tagged as St Tropez.

‘Provence!’ he wrote alongside the picturesque shot.
