Now sources have revealed how the little royal may be spending the day, telling Vanity Fair’s Katie Nicholl: ‘I wouldn’t be surprised if his birthday has a football theme. George is football crazy and actually a very good player.

They added: ‘During term time he plays for a local team and Will and Kate are often there to cheer him on.’

Meanwhile sources also revealed how the family would likely be joined by grandparents Carole and Michael Middleton to celebrate the big day, adding that the couple are ‘always a fixture’ at the Cambridge children’s parties.

While Prince George and the family spent his birthday last year in Mustique, sources have revealed how they’re happy to stay more location this year.

A family friend explained that little George ‘loves being outdoors’, adding: ‘They all love being in Norfolk and William and Kate would love to live there full time if they could.’

The source went on to say that the family were spending ‘all day every day’ outside during the lockdown.

Prince William is also an avid football fan and is a regular in the stands at Villa Park. He cheered the club to victory at Wembley last season.

George’s love of football has been no secret, with the royal also celebrating his sixth birthday with a  sports-themed party at Kensington Palace.

The popular prince was said to have invited his whole class at Thomas Battersea to the football- themed occasion last July ahead of the end of term.
