The Bachelor’s Locky Gilbert will be forced to say goodbye to the ladies vying for his heart on the Channel Ten’s ratings hit.

In the promo for next week’s episodes, host Osher Günsberg tells the remaining women on the show that The World Health Organization has declared COVID-19 a global pandemic.

After a rose ceremony, Locky, 31, is taken aside by Osher, who tells him that they ‘can’t keep everybody safe’ and he must say goodbye immediately.

The adventurous heartthrob is then seen revealing the situation to the ladies, adding: ‘It just sucks to leave all you guys.’

‘You never want to say goodbye, especially not this way… A lot of my heart’s been ripped out,’ he tells producers.

‘The world is kind of crazy at this point and we’re battlin’ on trying to find love.

The Bachelor was forced to suspend on-site production of the show back in March, due to the escalating COVID-19 pandemic.

While filming on location was suspended, Locky instead did ‘virtual dates’ via Zoom with the women, which they have dubbed as ‘love in lockdown’.

Despite his initial misgivings, Locky revealed to TV Week earlier this month that going into lockdown ended up being a good thing.

Being forced apart, with only Zoom dates to keep in touch, meant that Locky had no choice but to get to know the women on a personal level, rather than a physical one.

Filming at the Bachelor mansion resumed in early July, after the entire cast and crew were put in isolation and tested for coronavirus twice.

The Bachelor continues Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 10
