Studio 10’s Denise Drysdale is hospitalised after breaking shoulder

Denise Drysdale’s injuries revealed: Studio 10 star hospitalised after ‘tripping on a putting green and breaking her shoulder in THREE places’ while on the set of Channel Seven’s Holey Moley

Studio 10 star Denise Drysdale was hospitalised on Friday after suffering a fall.

Details have now emerged on the injury, as reported by the Herald Sun on Saturday.

The 71-year-old ‘broke her shoulder in three places’ while filming a challenge on Channel Seven’s golfing show Holey Moley, in the early hours of Friday morning.

In a statement provided to the Herald Sun, the show’s producers Eureka Productions said: ‘While filming Holey Moley in Brisbane, Denise Drysdale tripped on a putting green and sustained a shoulder injury. 

‘Denise is a national treasure and everyone is wishing her a speedy recovery.’

The Herald Sun understands the injury occurred at 3am on Friday morning, and saw Denise breaking her shoulder in three places.

For the challenge, that has to be shot in the dark, the TV legend received an electric shock via electrodes whenever she missed a shot on the putting green.

The injury is said to not be the result of an electric shock, but rather Denise dancing and interacting with the audience on the outdoor set.

Denise is to remain in hospital and will undergo further scans.

Holey Moley is hosted by Sonia Kruger and sees contestants taking part in unusual challenges while on a putting green.  

On Friday morning, Sarah Harris broke the news of Denise’s accident on Studio 10, telling her co-stars and viewers the fall had come as a ‘shock’.   

‘She will have surgery today, so it’s serious,’ the 39-year-old TV host added.  

Sarah revealed she’d ‘hurt herself in a couple of places’, but entertainment reporter Craig Bennett assured fans that Denise was ‘going to be okay’.

‘She’s wound up doing herself a terrible damage. She’s in hospital now,’ he added.

Craig revealed he’d had ‘a lovely chat’ with Denise shortly after her fall, and she confessed she was feeling down after sustaining multiple injuries.  

‘She’s about to be wheeled into surgery to have certain body bits fixed up,’ he said.

Denise’s accident comes on the back of a series of health issues in recent years, including a knee replacement surgery almost two years ago, and a blindness scare last year.
