Jake Quickenden has undergone a four hour operation on his arm.
The TV personality, 32, took to Instagram on Monday to share photographs of himself in his hospital bed as he was given morphine to cope with the pain.
Giving a thumbs up while masked up for gas-and-air, Jake appeared to be in good spirits as a tray of food lay in front of him, and admitted he was: ‘pretty high’.

Jake – who is preparing to become a father for the first time – went into hospital expecting a two-hour operation but ended up being kept under for four hours while surgeons worked their magic.
The reality star captioned his post-surgery snap: ‘Straight out, straight on that club sandwich. Op went well ended up being under four hours!! Pretty high right now but we good!! Road to recovery begins…. blesses.’
Earlier in the day, Jake shared a photograph of himself lying in his hospital bed, as he joked about posing with a leg in the air, ahead of his operation.
He wrote alongside: ‘I asked for fishnets and they said no…. I’ve never felt so sexy, do you wear underwear in the gowns….. asking for a mate!!

Jake revealed that his birth name is in fact Jacob as he showed off his wrist band and signed off his Instagram posts.

Just last week, Jake kissed pregnant girlfriend Sophie Church’s, 27, bump in an adorable new snap posted to his Instagram account.
The TV star said he will post an updated version of the picture ‘every couple of weeks’ to document Sophie’s bump growing.
The couple, who have been dating since June 2018, announced they were expecting a baby last month, following a ‘tough’ miscarriage last year.

In the post, Jake wore his arm in a sling and scrunched his face as he pressed it against Sophie’s bump.
The 2018 Dancing On Ice champion wrote: ‘Taking the little one to the gym today…. soph said she feels bloated….
‘I said it may be the fact you have a baby on board!! I cannot wait to meet my baby, I haven’t stopped smiling, gonna do a kiss bump pic every couple weeks to see the growth!! Love you @sophie__church.’ (sic)

The former X Factor star posted a similar photo on October 1, where he could be seen clutching Sophie’s sides and kissing her bump.
Sophie wore a cosy roll-neck grey dress and held her hands on her hips as she looked down at her partner.
The singer penned: ‘See you soon little one!!! @sophie__church just a weekly reminder you are doing amazing and you’re my hero!’
Last month, the reality star opened up about struggling emotionally after he and Sophie suffered a miscarriage in November 2019.

He said they both found the miscarriage ‘tough’, while Jake revealed he tried to stay positive for Sophie.
Appearing on Lorraine with Sophie, Jake said: ‘It was really hard, so hard for Sophie, it’s her body.
‘It affected both of us, honestly it was really tough. Luckily, I tried to keep you positive, thinking we’ll try again and tried to keep her going and here we are.’
The baby will be Jake’s first child, while Sophie is already a mum to Freddie, six, from a previous relationship.
