Dave Chappelle arrives to rehearsal for Saturday Night Live

Dave Chappelle arrives to rehearsal for Saturday Night Live… as he returns for the second time as the sketch show’s post-election host

He famously hosted the post-election episode of Saturday Night Live in 2016, after the nation learned that Donald Trump would become their next president.

But Dave Chappelle is expected to be in a more celebratory mood this time around as he returns as host for tonight’s episode of the long running sketch series.

The comedian, 47, arrived to the show’s final rehearsal at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City on Saturday morning.

Chappelle looked jovial as he approached the iconic building, just hours after it was announced that Democratic hopeful Joe Biden had been elected as the United States’ new Commander in Chief.

He had on a vintage AC/DC tee that featured artwork from the rock band’s 1985 album Fly On The Wall.

Dave completed his ensemble by throwing on some dark denim skinny jeans and slipping his feet into a pair of white sneakers with bright red detailing.

At one point, the A Star Is Born actor rocked a black hoodie from his own line of merch that featured a patch of his last initial on one sleeve.

The other sleeve appeared to have a patch in a similar style that read: ‘SNL.’

Dave, as well as all of the show’s cast and crew, have been wearing the ‘Chappelle 2020’ face mask that is also sold exclusively on the comedian’s website.

While enjoying a laugh with his friends, Chappelle grabbed a pack of American Spirit cigarettes from his pocket.

After getting in a few words, the Chappelle Show host lit a single cigarette and enjoyed a leisurely smoke.

Dave recently poked fun at his past post-election hosting gig during this week’s Saturday Night Live promo featuring the show’s musical guest The Foo Fighters.

‘Here we go again! I’m Dave Chappelle, and I’ll be hosting Saturday Night Live this week with musical guest the Foo Fighters,’ began Dave in his spiel.

But, without warning, the band’s frontman Dave Grohl interjects with: ‘I’m gonna call it.’

With a concerned expression, Chappelle, thinking Grohl is referring to the election results, tells him to ‘[not] do it, man’ and to ‘just let it happen.’

‘I’m gonna call it right now… Best show ever!’ exclaims Grohl, which prompts Chappelle to shout: ‘damn it, Dave!’
