Ivanka is urging Trump to concede to Biden as she eyes her own White House run

Ivanka Trump has been quietly urging her father to throw in the towel and concede the election to Joe Biden, as she sets her sights on her own future White House run, well-placed sources have exclusively told DailyMail.com.

On Saturday former VP Biden was named president-elect, sparking celebration across the country. Yet, President Trump has refused to accept the results, making unsubstantiated claims of widespread voter fraud and filing lawsuits in several states.

Don Jr. took up his father’s battle cry, furiously tweeting similar messages about voter fraud. Even first lady Melania spoke out about ‘illegal’ votes. Meanwhile, 39-year-old Ivanka has been silent on social media since Friday.

But behind the scenes, the first daughter has been pushing for Trump and his administration to admit defeat, saying during a senior staff meeting it was an ‘honor to serve the people and people should be happy with what they accomplished’.

An insider with close ties to the Trump family explained: ‘Ivanka has her own agenda. She’s has had her eyes on the desk behind the Oval Office since day one and she’s not about to burn any bridges by mouthing off like Don Jr. who keeps lashing out on Twitter.

‘Everything she puts out is calculated and well thought out because she’s always looking at the big picture.’

Even her husband Jared Kushner has been urging his father-in-law in private to gracefully give up the fight, pushing Trump to drop all the recently filed lawsuits and focus on four years from now.

The insider said that inside the Trump family there is ‘essentially a tug of war with Jared and Ivanka on one side and Don Jr and Eric on the other.’

‘Melania keeps her cards close – no one really know what she’s thinking,’ they added.

Ivanka isn’t the only Trump’s child eyeing up the White House – Don Jr. wants it too.

The insider said: ‘Don Jr. likes to think that he is the one who will eventually take over the reigns with Kimberly [Guilfoyle] by his side, but Melania would be the first to admit that this will never happen because he doesn’t have the smarts like Donald and at best will get his own show on Fox News.

‘Melania said just like her husband, Don Jr. likes to hear himself talk and doesn’t know when to stop.’

They added: ‘Unlike her brother, Ivanka has the full support for her father who will do anything to see his princess follow in his footsteps.

‘Donald likes to brag that they are like two peas in a pod and that just like him, Ivanka is a charismatic born leader that the people love.

‘He prides himself on the idea that she too will one day be President.’

But despite Ivanka’s apparent best efforts, President Trump has shown no sign of backing down.

Trump unleashed a slew of tweets late on Sunday night, two of them flagged by Twitter for containing disputed information.

He videos of his allies on Fox News alleging voter fraud and other irregularities, while calling for all claims to be fully investigated before the election result is allowed to stand.

It comes amid reports that Trump is planning a series of rallies where he will show off obituaries of dead people that his campaign claims were allowed to vote, while touting other allegations of fraud.

On Sunday night Axios reported that the Trump campaign was mobilizing its troops and readying for war.

‘We want to make sure we have an adequate supply of manpower on the ground for man-to-man combat,’ one adviser told Axios.

The Trump campaign is also said to be putting together ‘a campaign-style media operation’ to challenge the result, while building up staff numbers in states where legal challenges and recounts are likely to go ahead.

On Sunday night Philadelphia City Commissioner Al Schmidt, a Republican, told 60 Minutes that his office, which runs the vote count, has received death threats as a result of the Trump campaign’s accusation of vote rigging.

The Trump’s formal legal team includes 2020 campaign manager Bill Stepien, lawyer Justin Clark, and senior advisers Jason Miller and David Bossie.

Some Republicans are urging him to accept defeat including former President George W. Bush who issued a message telling him the election’s outcome was ‘clear’ and Chris Christie who said it was time for him to show evidence or ‘move on.’

And the Trump appointee in charge of initiating the formal transition to a Joe Biden-led administration has so far refused to sign off on the necessary paperwork to begin the process, raising concerns over whether there will be a smooth transfer of power.

Emily Murphy was tapped by Trump to head the General Services Administration, the agency in charge of federal buildings.

By law, if a new president is elected, the GSA administrator is required to sign paperwork that officially hands over millions of dollars to the transition team of the incoming administration, formally launching the handover process.

The transition team is also granted access to government officials, office space in agencies, and equipment.

As of Sunday evening, however, Murphy has not signed such a letter even though it has been more than 36 hours since major news organizations projected Biden to be the apparent winner of Tuesday’s election, according to The Washington Post.
