Barack and Michelle Obama are teaming up with comedian Adam Conover on a Netflix series loosely inspired by Michael Lewis’ best-selling book The Fifth Risk- which looks into the chaos that unfolded as various appointments were done by President Trump.
The comedy series, The G Word with Adam Conover, is being produced by the power couple’s Higher Ground Productions. It is expected to being production in early 2021, Deadline reports.
Barack and Michelle acquired the rights to Lewis’ book back in 2018 and the film will mark one of the production company’s first projects on the streaming service. Lewis is the best-selling author of The Big Short and Moneyball, which have both become revered movies.

Higher Ground’s Tonia Davis and Priya Swaminathan are executive producing the show with the trio.
Conover took to Twitter to confirm the news and also announce that his truTV show Adam Ruins Everything was coming to an end.
‘Very happy to finally be able to share this news: I’m creating a new comedy series for Netflix about the federal government,’ he said in a Thursday Twitter thread. ‘It’s called The G Word, and I can’t wait to share it with you.’
‘This confirms what many of you have probably already guessed: Adam Ruins Everything’s season finale was also our series finale. I’m so proud of what our team accomplished on ARE, but it was time to take on a new challenge and prove we could tell even bigger stories.

Earlier in May, the production company release the Michele Obama documentary Becoming on the streaming giant with resounding success.
‘Becoming’ had been the latest release from Higher Ground Productions, the production company created by Barack and Michelle Obama. Their exclusive multi-film deal with Netflix has already proven fruitful.
The Obamas first film, ‘American Factory,’ by Julia Reichert and Steven Bognar, earlier this year won the Academy Award for best documentary. The Obamas did not attend the Oscars, nor received a statuette.
Higher Ground was also behind the acclaimed documentary ‘Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution,’ by James Lebrecht and Nicole Newnham.
