Shoppers have been left horrified after seeing Pretty Little Thing advertising a wireless earphone case using AirPods covered in earwax. 

Yasmin Amirah, from Kent, took to Twitter to share a screenshot of the online retailer’s product page for a £6 pink carrier case.

She uploaded the images, which appeared to show the earphones that appeared to be speckled with a brown substance, alongside a simple caption that read: ‘Omg no.’

The post has since been liked more than 317,000 times and was met with a flurry of disgust from shoppers as others tried to see the funny side.

One user wrote: ‘Did they just ask one of their workers to borrow their AirPods.’

Another commented: ‘DIRTYLITTLETHING.’

And a third added: ‘Did y’all really not bother to clean them beforehand? or at least edit the damn pic?’

A second simply added: ‘And the blue.’

And a third social media user confirmed: ‘Blue and black not looking free of orange either…’  

But the criticism did not stop there as other shoppers claimed the retailer had eventually tried to photoshop the wax out of the shots as one said: ‘Not them editing white over the earwax.’

But Pretty Little Thing was not the only online retailer to suffer the faux pas as one user shared a screenshot in the discussion alongside a caption that read: 'Y'all look it's on Etsy too'
