Feels good to be home! Grey’s Anatomy star Kate Walsh, 53, shows off her bikini body at the beach in Perth after officially relocating from New York to Australia

She found herself ‘stuck’ in Australia in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

But it seems like Kate Walsh’s holiday Down Under has become a permanent move, as she looked very much at home during a trip to the beach in Perth on Saturday.

The New York City native, 53, couldn’t wipe the smile off her face as she soaked up the sun in a patterned orange bikini.

The Grey’s Anatomy star tied her brunette hair in a no-fuss ponytail and accessorised with a pair of dainty necklaces.

The actress, who is also known for her roles in Private Practice and 13 Reasons Why, appeared to go makeup free, drawing attention to her ageless features.

She was joined by her dog Rosie, who looked very happy indeed while splashing about in the surf.

Kate had arranged for Rosie and her cat Pablo to flown over from America last week, in a major clue her move to Australia is a permanent one.

The journey took the animals 15 days in total and was facilitated by an international pet travel service.

While she never intended to relocate to Australia, the Umbrella Academy star has made herself at home on the west coast amid the coronavirus pandemic.

‘I didn’t really want to go back to New York in the middle of a pandemic when it was pretty gnarly to say the least,’ she told Sydney’s Daily Telegraph.

‘I couldn’t go home initially, and now that I can, I don’t really fancy going back. When I have my own mother saying don’t come home, my 86-year-old mum… we are in a very challenging time!’

Kate now plans to support Australia’s local film industry after it suffered enormously due to the global pandemic.

She recently told 2GB’s Jim Wilson she felt ‘very grateful’ to be in Australia during the Covid-19 crisis.

‘Honestly, I feel very lucky,’ she said. ‘It’s kind of a crazy situation: it’s like being in an alternate reality compared to the rest of the world.
