Sarah Ferguson wishes her followers ‘happy holidays’ she dons a Santa hat for Christmas message

Sarah Ferguson wished her followers a ‘happy holidays’ and ‘virtual hugs’ as she donned a Santa hat in for a Christmas message to her 308,000 Instagram followers last night. 

The Duchess of York, 61, wrapped up warm in a  black bomber jacket and navy and red Gucci scarf as she urged people to spread ‘huge amounts of kindness’ and to ‘give everyone a smile’ at Christmas in a clip believed to be filmed at the Royal Lodge in Windsor. 

Throwing her arms out before blowing kisses to the camera, the royal added: ‘Today just give everyone a smile and so much love, every day of every moment just give everyone so much love’.

Keeping her famously red hair tied back so just tufts stuck out under her red and white festive headgear, the former wife of Prince Andrew looked cosy and she posed in front of shrubbery in the brisk December weather.

The mother-of-two, who shares Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie with the Queen’s second son,  has been spending most of the year at Royal Lodge in Windsor with her ex-husband.

Andrew and Sarah are set to become grandparents for the first time in 2021, as their youngest Princess Eugenie, 30, is pregnant by her husband Jack Brooksbank.

This year, the former couple became step-grandparents when their eldest Princess Beatrice, 32, tied the knot to her long-term partner, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who has a four-year-old son from a previous relationship.

Earlier this month, Sarah donned festive headgear yet again as she dressed up as an elf causing fans to insist she’ll be a ‘fantastic grandmother’.

Wearing a a red and green hat complete with elf ears, the royal sat in front of her fireplace, which was decorated with wreaths and candles.

There was also a small Christmas tree, which already had a few toys underneath it as well as a gold reindeer figurine.

In the clip, Sarah, discussed her new venture, ‘Elf News’ which she says is a journalism service from the North Pole to give children updates on Father Christmas.

‘It’s so exciting. Elf News is bringing you Santa,’ she said.

‘So for girls and boys and everybody, the children out there, in hospices, hospitals, and who are really struggling, do not worry, you will be able to talk to Santa.

‘You can go on Elf News and get a sneak peek with Santa and if you’ve been good, he will have a little word with you, which is just so exciting. 

‘So don’t give up. Stay tuned and go on Elf News and the sneak peek to Santa.’
