Olivia Rodrigo’s album Sour returns to number one spot on Billboard 200 chart for third time


Olivia Rodrigo has returned to the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart for the third time since her debut album Sour was released in May.

The 18-year-old singer’s album reached number one again in the week ending July 8, according to an article Sunday by Billboard.

Sour debuted at the top spot on the chart dated June 5 and again topped the Billboard 200 chart for the tally dated July 3.

Olivia’s debut effort has been in the top three during its seven weeks on the chart.

The Billboard 200 charts ranks the most popular albums of the week in the United States based on multiple measurements of consumption.

Doja Cat ranked in second place with the singer’s Planet Her album on its second week on the chart.

G Herbo entered the chart at number five with the debut of his fourth studio album 25.

Pop star Dua Lipa, 25, stayed on the chart with Future Nostalgia ranked in eighth place.

Olivia announced last week on social media that her Sour Prom Concert will debut Tuesday on YouTube.

The event will feature Olivia performing songs from her Sour album and she has called it ‘the ultimate alternative prom experience’.

There also will be a pre-concert event before her prom concert that Olivia will host.

Olivia played Nini Salazar-Roberts in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. 

 Sour has received widespread critical acclaim and broke the global Spotify record for the biggest opening week for an album by a female artist.
