A plant lover has transformed two coffee tables into a lush mini garden – complete with real succulents and dirt.

The woman, from Victoria, used a $39 ‘Noir’ coffee table from Kmart as a planter filled with live green plants and she upcycled an old Ikea glass top.

She created three rods made out of wooden dowels to securely hold the glass table top above the succulents, giving enough space in between for her plants to grow.

‘Saw this idea on Pinterest a little while ago and I had to try it. The Noir table was the perfect fit. Love, love, love it and super proud that I did it by myself. Can’t wait for them to grow and sprout,’ she wrote in a Facebook group.

‘Glass top was found off marketplace and was part of an Ikea coffee table. Was pure luck that it was the perfect size.

‘The posts holding the glass are made from dowel that I cut and painted, then put rubber bumpers on top to stop the glass from sliding.’

She said her living room has ‘full sized windows wall to wall’ so it receives natural ‘sunlight from sunrise to sunset’.
