Married at First Sight UK’s viewers tell Amy she needs to get a grip after Dinner Party row

Married at First Sight UK viewers gave new bride Amy Christopher short shrift after tuning into the latest episode of the reality show.

They said Cornwall-native Amy should ‘get a grip’ after she and new husband Josh Christies’ relationship was branded the least likely to last during last night’s episode.

During a tense dinner party, fellow newlywed, travel agent Tayah, 25, was asked to rank all the remaining couples according to whose relationship she thought would last the longest.

Tayah ranked herself and her partner Adam, 26, first and put Amy and Josh last, which exasperated Amy, 34.

Viewers watching the scene unfold said Amy was behaving ‘like a child’ in venting her obvious annoyance. However, some viewers said they could understand her frustration at the ranking.

Married at First Sight UK viewers said Amy Christopher, 34, from Cornwall, needed to ‘get a grip’ after she expressed her annoyance that other contestants deemed her relationship with Joshua Christie the least likely to last

The couples were all enjoying a lively dinner together during the new episode when the Honesty Box forced them to address questions about each other’s relationships.

Tayah, whose pairing with Adam, 26, is considered the most loved-up on the show, was asked to rank couples according to how long she thought they’d last, from ‘forever’ to ‘two days.’

She said Adam and her would ‘obviously’ stay together forever, and gave Matt and Dan the second ranking, saying they were likely to stay together for ‘two decades.’

Tayah added that she thought Marylise and Frankie would be likely stay together for two years, and added that while she ‘loved [them]’ and thought they’d ‘go a long way’, she gave Luke and Morag just ‘two weeks.’

The only ranking left to give was ‘two days,’ which was not lost on Amy, who interrupted the chitty-chatter to say: ‘I don’t know if you guys can feel this f****** table rocking but that is my legs going from anxiety because I’m f**** off right now.’

‘Why are you f***** off?’ Tayah asked from her end of the table.

‘We’re going to go two days,’ Amy said, gesturing to the card.

‘I haven’t had a chance to get to know you as a couple. Don’t take it personally,’ Tayah said.

An exasperated Amy couldn’t help but roll her eyes, which Tayah caught: ‘Amy don’t roll your eyes, it’s fine,’ she said.

Relationships experts Mel Schilling, Paul C Brunson and Charlene Douglas, who were watching the dinner party unfold, said the fact other couples kept ranking Amy and Josh last was starting to take a toll on Amy.

‘She has doubts, she wonders about how serious Josh is about the relationship, and I think when she hears something like that, it reaffirms that fear for her,’ Charlene said.

After Tayah’s ranking, the other couples tried to explain to Amy why they ranked her and Josh last.

‘You haven’t been that open about your relationship,’ Matt said.

‘We only open up about the bad stuff, we’re not open about the good stuff,’ Amy defended herself.

Speaking to the camera, Josh said: ‘I really find it hard to be emotionally available,’ before adding he wanted to ‘prove everybody wrong.’

‘Mine and Josh’s relationship is misunderstood by the group but it still hurts when they don’t have any faith in you,’ Amy said.

Earlier in the evening, Dan, who was paired with Matt, also said Amy and Josh were the worst match out of the five remaining couples.

When Amy voiced she wasn’t happy with her ranking, Dan replied:  ‘It’s not a competition.’

‘Something we’ve observed about Amy throughout the process is she really does need that recognition from others that they’re doing well as a couple,’ Mel said.

‘Tonight for her to be literally placed last in the order of the couples is going to land very heavily for her,’ she added.

‘I feel for Amy, if you hear enough times “you’re not meant to be together”, “you won’t work,” you begin to not work. She needs to have some support and she’s not getting it,’ Paul said.

People were spit between saying Amy needed to 'get a grip' and stop caring about what other people thought of her relationship, and arguing they could understand where she was coming from

People were spit between saying Amy needed to ‘get a grip’ and stop caring about what other people thought of her relationship, and arguing they could understand where she was coming from

Viewers were split, with many saying Amy needed to ‘get a grip’ and not care about what other people thought.

‘Amy is such a child,’ one said.

‘Amy needs to chill the f*** out why does she let people’s opinions shake her so much. They’re literally just opinions, they only have the power to hurt you if you let them girl. Get a grip,’ one said.

‘Amy and Josh are so poorly matched and shouldn’t be together. He’s almost being forced to love somebody he quite clearly doesn’t,’ another wrote.

‘Amy & Josh deserve a happy ever after but it isn’t with one another,’ they added.

‘Josh is not going to fall in love with Amy, they’re forcing it even more than Luke is,’ one said.

‘Amy is so f******* ridiculous sometimes. I actually feel bad for josh at the minute,’ one wrote.

Other viewers said Amy was acting as a child, which was likely to cause her relationship with Josh to tank

‘Why are they always forcing Josh to declare his love for Amy. Its really not been that long and she’s awful to him.

Others felt they could understand where Amy was coming from.

‘Amy is a whiny one at times but she held her own tonight when they all thought they were above her. I really hope her and Josh hang on in there if only to p*** all over the other wannabe “celebs”,’ one said.

‘Tbf putting myself in Amy’s shoes I understand why she is fuming about people constantly criticising her relationship,’ said one.

‘I’d be fuming if I were Amy too,’ one wrote.

‘Tayah is so annoying as she is constantly on Amy and Josh,’ another said.
