A new LED facial mask that claims to treat skin concerns like pigmentation, acne and wrinkles is set to launch in Aldi – and it looks similar to high-end brands costing more than $600.

The Illumia Skin light therapy face mask will go on sale across Australia via the supermarket’s online store for $249 from Wednesday, October 27.

The beauty gadget provides a non-invasive cosmetic treatment using an infrared technology to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, reduce acne and prevent breakouts, improve uneven skin tone and promote collagen production.

The budget model is lower in price than CurrentBody’s $630 LED light therapy face mask, which is considered as one of the must-have beauty buys on the market.

But if you’ve had your eye on a hi-tech face mask but have been reluctant to spend a small fortune, the cheaper version is worth checking out.

Shoppers have shared their excitement on social media, with one beauty therapist saying light therapy masks are ‘amazing’ for treating different skin concerns.

‘I’ve got an expensive brand and the wavelengths are the same,’ another shopper claimed, while another said: ‘The Peppy Co only has three modes, this one has eight, and the wavelengths are similar to the high end ones which cost over $550.’

Many said they couldn’t wait to get their hands on the gadget, with one saying: ‘I will definitely be getting one. From what I’ve read and researched, this product is the same as the Aduro one available in the market.’

An LED face mask by Aduro Australia costs $499.

Aldi’s version has been designed to help promote healthy looking skin and refresh the appearance of skin.

The light triggers natural chemical reactions in the skin cells that will help the skin rejuvenate and heal.

With a choice of seven different colours plus infrared, you can modify your treatments for the targeted action you want.
