A young bargain hunter has revealed how she scored a $40 scotch fillet for less than $2 by looking out for meat with a ‘quick sale’ sticker during her recent shop.

The 1.4 kilogram piece of steak was initially priced at $39.12 but was reduced three times before the savvy Woolworths shopper added it to her cart.

The young woman posted a picture of the Drovers Choice branded beef and its incredible $1.95 price tag on a bargain hunters’ Facebook Page.

‘Great score tonight,’ she bragged.

The meat had a use by of November 1, the same day the woman bought it, but she wasn’t worried. 

The incredible bargain infuriated some shoppers who said they struggle to find products with any ‘decent discounts’.

‘We can’t even get $2 off products on the best before day here in Merrylands,’ one woman complained.

‘If only we could get some discounts like this,’ said another, tagging their partner. 

While others congratulated her but agreed their local never has good deals.

‘Great find, no discount like that in Moe.’ one woman said. 

But most were excited for the lucky shopper.

‘You win, well done,’ exclaimed one. 

‘Looks perfect for a Melbourne Cup Day barbecue,’ said another.
