A clever Kmart shopper has revealed how she turned an ‘starving’ artificial multicoloured Christmas tree into a stunning luxurious festive piece for only $16.

Hailey was on the hunt for a rainbow tree this year, but was disappointed with the ‘poor, sad, skinny’ $4 option sold by the retail giant.

But after purchasing four of the affordable buys, she managed to create the perfect colourful tree she wanted.

The ‘brilliant’ idea created a much ‘fuller’ look with layers of green, blue, purple and pink.

‘So I really wanted a rainbow tree this year, but all they had was the poor sad skinny looking tree for $4,’ Hailey wrote and shared images on Facebook.

‘I purchased four of them removed the bottom stands (they came off easily), tied them together, and BAM! I’m sure this would work with any tree!’

To create the tree, she first removed the stand from three of the four trees then ‘fluffed’ all the branches into the same direction.

Next, she bundled together the branches then attached three zip ties on the top, middle and bottom then put the legs on the one remaining stand.

The end result looked fantastic even though it was yet to be decorated.
