The Block’s Tanya Guccione reveals how she explained THAT cheating scandal to her children – and admits ‘one of the worst things you can teach your kids is to be perfect’
The Block’s Tanya Guccione became the ‘villain’ on the show this year thanks to the infamous cheating scandal.
And the makeup artist, 40, revealed during an Instagram Q&A on Tuesday how she explained the situation to her children, Eva, 12, and Josiah, eight.
Tanya said she was honest with her kids and used the controversy as a lesson that no one is ‘perfect’.

‘How did you explain to your kids about the lying?’ one fan asked her.
‘I believe one of the worst things you can teach your kids is to be perfect,’ Tanya replied.
‘Obviously it’s also not very good to say one thing and do another. I do try and lead by example; however, it obviously is a hard situation to explain.’

She added that Eva and Josiah are doing ‘fine’ and know she made a mistake.
‘I don’t condone it, but I don’t judge others either,’ she said.
‘Our family is so supportive and full of love. My kids are seriously fine and [are] like, “Mum, you made a mistake it was dumb, who cares, move on.”‘
During The Block finale earlier this month, Tanya confessed to her involvement in the cheating scandal.

The Love Island twins implicated Tanya, saying she was the one who took the photo of the show’s production schedule and sent it to them.
Earlier in the episode, Tanya had made a last-ditch attempt to downplay her involvement by saying she didn’t know who’d sent her photo because it came in the form of an anonymous text message.
‘Yes, Josh and I both went into the production office during the photo shoot and we did actually visually see the schedule,’ she said.
‘We had a bit of a laugh, “Oh my gosh, look at that, that is the schedule. Don’t have a good enough memory these days to remember it off by heart”, but I did not take that photo.’

‘What I want to say is that I obviously take full responsibility for this situation and I am sorry, I am truly sorry. Yes, I did. I took the photograph,’ she said tearfully.
‘I am not a stupid woman but I did a stupid thing. We take responsibility for what happened and where it ended up after that was obviously out of my power, but I started it.’
Tanya and husband Vito had found themselves at the centre of a cheating scandal early in the season after she obtained a photo of the show’s production schedule.
Anyone who saw the photo had the advantage of being able to plan their specifications weeks in advance or pre-order something for a specific room.
