Crocked Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar has turned to a former player of the club to help guide him through his current injury woes.

Neymar, 29, suffered ankle ligament damage during his team’s victory over Saint-Etienne in Ligue 1 last month, and was forced to leave the pitch on a stretcher.

It is believed he may now be ruled out until 2022, with a spell out of between six and eight weeks initially diagnosed, and he has recruited some outside help.

The man brought in to help him through this testing period is Nene, his close friend who is continuing to play with Vasco da Gama despite being aged 40.

Nene will be particularly useful to helping ex-Barcelona man Neymar successfully return to fitness, whilst also keeping up his spirits mentally during his lay-off.

He has now touched down in Paris to spend time with the forward.

‘I’m here in Paris to help him and to give him everything that he needs,’ he said.

‘The support for him, playing together, having a good time and, above all, making him laugh a little. This is so that he can concentrate on returning as soon as possible.

‘He is calm, of course but he is not happy – this is a difficult moment for him and his knee is still bad.

‘But I try to support him, to be with him, to tell him that he has to be positive and that this will pass soon.

‘He will return in about a month and half and is doing everything possible to return soon.’

Nene’s playing career stretches across two decades, and he most notably played for the likes of Mallorca, Alaves, Celta Vigo and Espanyol in Spain.

The veteran has also turned out for Monaco and spent a short stint with West Ham.
