Kylie Minogue has revealed she felt ‘really nervous’ to take to the stage to perform to fans after lockdown. 

In a video released on Wednesday, the singer, 53, talked to Olly Alexander, 31, all about when she first came to London ahead of their secret Hilton concert in London. 

When asked by Kylie how Olly felt about singing to fans again, he said: ‘It is amazing. I felt quite emotional the first time, because I realised how much I’d missed it.’

Both, Kylie and Olly confessed to each other that they were ‘really nervous’ to take to the stage once the restrictions had lifted.

Elsewhere in the interview the pair reminisced about their time in London, with Kylie first moving to the city aged 21.

The songstress recalled: ‘That is when I got into club culture, and meeting designers – I’d be up and down Kings Road, because you didn’t have stylists, you went and did everything yourself.’

When asked about his own experiences in London, Olly replied: ‘I moved when I was 18, from my mum’s in the Forest of Dean. 

‘I started going out in my early 20s in East London to all the gay clubs that are now closed, but that was my real coming of age.’

Kylie also spoke to Olly about being a ‘gay icon’ after the Years and Years star told her she was.

She said: ‘I didn’t set out to do that, it is just naturally how I feel. There is so much talk about inclusivity, and I felt I always had that from the beginning. 

‘I used to say, I loved to be able to look out at my shows, and there are just all walks of life – there has never been any judgement.’
