Married At First Sight bride Selin Mengu has revealed why her relationship with Anthony Cincotta fell apart so soon after their fairytale wedding.
The mother of one, 32, spoke about her TV marriage in an interview with 2Day FM’s The Morning Crew with Hughesy, Ed and Erin on Tuesday.
She said viewers were rushing to vilify her for ‘rejecting’ Anthony when there was a lot more going on that they didn’t see.

She alleged that Anthony dropped his gentlemanly act when the cameras stopped rolling, and that her hostility towards him was just her ‘sticking up for myself’.
‘A lot of women… are taking digs at me, but it’s like, I’m sticking up for myself where I guess people aren’t seeing this,’ the executive assistant said.
Selin also spoke about her behaviour on Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa, insisting she was a ‘bottle of wine in’ during her dinner-party clash with Anthony.

The awkward interaction happened at the end of the episode when Anthony pulled his wife aside to explain why he had ditched her on their honeymoon.
While Anthony admitted he regretted his actions and hoped to put their troubles behind them, Selin refused to accept his apology.
‘I just think the viewers have got to understand they see one per cent of everything that has happened. That’s one per cent of everything,’ she told Fitzy & Wippa.

Selin claimed she’d actually tried to discuss her feelings with Anthony before the dinner party, and even sat next to him in the hope of patching things up.
But when she tried to talk to him, she claims she was ‘brushed off’.
‘I don’t know if you’ve seen, but I sit next to him at the dinner party before we go on to the table, and I tried to talk to him and I got brushed off,’ she said.

‘So when it comes to the end of the night and I was, you know, maybe a bottle of wine in unfortunately at that point, I didn’t want to listen. And yes, I could have drawn a line in the sand.’
