The rules for keeping a Gremlin outlined in the 1984 film include not letting them get wet and no food after midnight, and they’re not bad rules for dog owners either.
Perhaps that’s why fans of the cult classic have gone wild for Proshka, a Brussels Griffon with a permanently grumpy expression, who lives in Sheffield with his owner, Stefani Doherty.
Stefani has been sharing photographs of her cranky-looking canine and her three other dogs Penelope, Tati and Ruby on Instagram since June 2020,
But it’s Proshka who’s stolen the show with his grumpy expression and wild fur winning him legions of fans from around the world.
Many of Stefani’s 15,000 followers, have likened the dog to Gizmo from the 1984 film Gremlins.

Stefani revealed strangers have stopped her to ask what breed two-year-old Proshka is, while also comparing him to Chewbacca and The Grinch.
His owner claims he loves the attention and has become the standout star of her gang of pets.
She has dressed Proshka in a series of costumes for heartwarming TikTok videos, including The Grinch, Danny from Grease and Peaky Blinders’ gangsters.
Stefani said she was inspired to get her first dog Ruby, after seeing the breed in the film As Good As It Gets with Jack Nicholson.
