Andy Robertson says Liverpool ‘must be ready to pounce’ if Manchester City slip up in Premier League title race…but admits he would rather be nine points clear at the top of the table instead of having games in hand

Andy Robertson believes Liverpool can still win the Premier League title and has urged the Reds to keep the pressure on Manchester City and be ‘ready to pounce’ if Pep Guardiola’s team slips up.
Liverpool head into Saturday’s game against Norwich at Anfield nine points behind league leaders City with a game in hand and could temporarily close the gap before the Premier League champions host Tottenham in the teatime kick-off.
City have won 14 of their last 15 league games and have looked absolutely unstoppable, but Robertson insisted Liverpool will not give up the chase.

‘We need to keep putting pressure on them, that’s all we can do. We need to keep winning our games,’ he told Sky Sports on Saturday.
‘They know they can’t slip up and if they do drop points we need to be ready to pounce like we were just before the [winter] break when they dropped points against Southampton and we got a win at Crystal Palace.’
Liverpool have a game in hand against Leeds, but the Scotland international admitted he would rather be setting the pace at the top of the table than chasing City.
City’s 4-0 win against Norwich last week was their 14th in their last 15 Premier League games
But Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has insisted he isn’t thinking about catching leaders City
‘I don’t like game in hands, I’d rather points on the board,’ he explained.
‘You need to win those games to make it count and we know how difficult Leeds can be, so I’d much rather the points on the board and I’d much rather be in City’s position and be nine points clear.’
With just four games left to play after they meet on April 9, City could well be in a position to effectively seal the title when they host Liverpool at the Etihad.

Robertson, however, is hopeful the Reds can be in striking distance by then.
‘We still have to play them away from home, which is always an interesting game and always an exciting game,’ he said.
‘We’ll have to see what the gap is like then, hopefully it’s a bit shorter and we can have a right go at it but we need to keep being ruthless in games and we need to keep winning games and if we do that let’s see where we finish up in May.’
