A busy mum has revealed how she managed to get her filthy oven racks looking like new again by soaking them in the bath for just two hours.
The woman put the wire racks in a bath of hot water before adding three dishwasher tablets and leaving them to soak.
She was pleasantly surprised when she returned to the trays and ‘the muck’ just wiped straight off.

The woman took before and after photos of her efforts and posted them on a popular cleaning page after searching the same site for information hours earlier.
She revealed she had seen hacks on the site which called for washing powder and Napisan but didn’t have either at her disposal.
‘Day before an inspection I didn’t have either on hand so I thought let’s try these dish washer tablets grandma gave me,’ she said.
She hadn’t used the tablets previously because she doesn’t have a dishwasher but thought she would keep them because they ‘might come in handy’.
But she didn’t expect them to be quite as effective as they were.
The woman said her racks were covered in muck before she soaked them in the bath
‘Just with a scourer and light scrubbing almost all of the muck came off except for what was in the hard to scrub edges,’ she said.
People were impressed with her efforts, tagging their friends and offering compliments on the post.
The woman suggested people use a tub for the job after realising she would have to scrub the bath once she was finished.
She used three dishwashing tablets to cut through the grime and was pleased with the outcome
‘The 24litre tubs should work the same,’ she said.
Others said they soak their pots and pans with the tablets overnight.
‘It makes them much easier to scrub.’
One woman said she uses laundry powder on her oven racks with similar results.
