A woman has shown off her affordable Aqua Socks from Kmart that she says were an essential travel item on her recent trip to French Polynesia.

Rashida, from Sydney, purchased the slip on shoes for only $8 and says she could not have snorkelled or walked on beaches without them. 

She says the socks were an absolute bargain because they worked just as well as other aqua shoes from surf shops that cost up to $70.

The happy customer said that her shoes remained sand-free the entire trip and they were easy to slip on and off thanks to the built-in cord closure. 

The shoes also feature a non-slip rubber base with a comfortable sole which makes them perfect to wear on long outings. 

Rashida posted the pair of Aqua Socks in various tropical locations from her three week holiday and received more than 500 likes and many comments.

Fellow Kmart fans and customers also suggested that the shoes are suitable to wear on boat trips, when bushwalking, fishing, camping or hiking along riverbeds.

A former swimming teacher also dubbed the aqua shoes an essential when spending long amounts of time in the water.  

Others commented on how professional the shoes looked sitting in the different tropical beach locations.
